[IELTS Speaking Part 2] Describe a person’s home you visited that you liked, but would not want to live in

Well, to be honest, I have been to many parts of Vietnam and paid a visit to numerous residential places of the locals. However, for this topic, I would like to talk about my friend’s house in Quang Ninh that I was lucky to be a guest last summer. The house is located on a main street of this port city within close proximity to many great restaurants and some of the best recreational places. My friend and I were on a get-away trip to Ha Long Bay at that time so we had a chance to come by his house for a quick visit.

Looking from the outside, this house really stands out thanks to its architectural style that is not uniform to other houses in the neighborhood. Instead of following the traditional Vietnamese style, the building adopted a rather western one with a breeze of Mediterranean architecture evidenced by its light blue paint color. For interior design, I was quite impressed with the minimalistic style of the furniture and also their arrangements which are certainly simple yet effective. Besides that, the balcony overlooking the sea was also a notable feature of this house. I could imagine myself sitting there watching the starry night sky after a long day of hard work.

However, if you ask me whether I would like to live there or not, my answer is no. The reason is that sometimes I could still smell the odor/stench of dead fish from the beach nearby, which was a little nauseating for me since I do have a quite sensitive nose in general. Maybe I would love to visit that house again if I have a chance but I am not gonna be staying there for long.
