[IELTS Speaking Part 2] Describe a person who wears clothes that you think are unusual

Well, even though I do not count myself a fashion lover, I do know one or two things about this particular subject. For this topic, I would like to talk about Harry Styles, a former boy band member and now a true fashion icon. As I can recall, I have been following him on social media since his days in the boy band, One Direction. At that time, he was not as adventurous as he is now in terms of fashion actually. His choices of outfit, even on or off stage, were quite safe with sport boyish trainers, hoodies, and leather jackets. However, at the age of 19, he started to break the mould with a more sartorial approach to fashion. And in the next few years, his style has dramatically shifted towards a so-called Gucci-heavy aesthetics with candy floss-pink suits, printed satin flares, stacked heels and fistfuls of rings.

The reason why I think his choice of clothes is unusual is that it remarkably blurs the gender boundaries. Some items which are usually seen on a woman’s body are now perfectly presented on his. While some people might criticize his seemingly bizarre fashion style, I do believe that he has started a revolutionary movement for the clothing industry by breaking all gender labels traditionally put on clothes. Instead of following the trends or styles dictated by the society, he aims to set himself apart from the crowd and express his personal identity. I think he is such a brave person and I do look forward to seeing more from him.
